The blank page is opportunity
potential
a chance for change or adventure
A symbol of freedom, a fresh start
the unknown
a still playground for fantasy
A yawning maw craving sustenance
emptiness
i am haunted by blank pages.

all in time, yes, all in time
all in due time, wrapped in twine
cracked in twain, packed in time
all of our time, lost again.
So i come back down, empty-handed and crush-headed. The drugs here are cheap but the trip will cost you your fucking head.
5 stars - Recklessly recommended. I’d come back here in a heartbeat if the doors re-opened.
I am goddamned determined. The journey begins anew, but I am not boarding a train or hitting a trail—I am putting boots to the earth and hacking a path with the nib of my mind. I will walk myself haggard, dance myself ragged, sing myself hoarse, scribble my fingers to the bone, fight and drink and fuck until the sun and moon go down in shame, then I will illuminate my path with the light of my own burning body.
I have no reason nor purpose but to make it known that I exist…that I am part of this. Insanity is a risk I’m willing to take.
C’est ma résolution de vivre.
My new Swedish children’s book i picked up in Asheville for $1.95. The title is something to the effect of Magic, beg pardon?
I haven’t translated it yet, but from what i can tell it’s about a little boy and a girl named Cilla who get play married in a house full of crazy kids, and then some bully named Pontus L. comes along and takes her away.
So the jilted boy gets verrry angry and behaves dangerously and screams at little old ladies. Then he decides to study dark magic, learns how to turn into a black cat and causes a huge ruckus at the dinner table and nearly gets beaten by a mean old lady with a broom. For some reason, this totally captures the heart of Cilla, who gladly play-marries him, again.
And then the boy grows up and marries someone else entirely and has kids and bunnies. The end. The last line says “With magic, you must try until you die.”
